Construction | Accounting and Finance | On-site with limited hybrid flexibility depending on the profile. | Permanent - Full-time

Drive the finance and performance of a growing organization Key Information
  • Job Title: Director of Finance
  • Location: Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada
  • Job Type: Permanent - Full-time
  • Work Mode: On-site (limited hybrid flexibility depending on the profile)
  • Salary: $130,000 to $160,000

A growing organization in the construction sector, this company is looking for a Director of Finance to evolve the finance function into a more strategic partner. You will report directly to the President and take charge of finance and administration, with an accounting team already in place. The role combines governance, operational performance, and continuous improvement, with a direct impact on decision-making.

Responsibilities — financial governance, performance, and control
  • Lead the budgeting process and approve deliverables, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Analyze financial results, ratios, and ongoing work, then recommend concrete actions to management.
  • Ensure the accuracy of project accounting and cost tracking, including improving cost prices.
  • Deploy KPIs and dashboards (Power BI) to enhance visibility, predictability, and multi-entity performance.
  • Oversee cash management and banking operations: cash movements, accounts receivable, withholdings, payment validation, and check signing.
  • Strengthen internal controls and asset protection by approving reports and implementing measurable improvements.
  • Manage key administrative aspects: links with the bank and surety company, insurance, follow-ups with tax advisors/accounting firm, minute books, financial data security, participation in committees.
Profile sought — must-haves and leadership style
  • Hold a CPA designation.
  • Have 6 years or more of relevant experience in finance/accounting, ideally in a multi-entity SME environment.
  • Master the supervision of the accounting cycle, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, banking, and internal controls.
  • Have a good knowledge of English.
  • Demonstrate mobilizing leadership and closeness to the team, with the ability to guide an already operational finance and administration function.
  • Exercise sound judgment and rigorous risk management while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Communicate with influence and know how to challenge management (President, CEO, shareholders) with tact and courage.
Conditions — compensation, schedule, and benefits
  • Offer a salary of $130,000 to $160,000
  • Work 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule between approximately 7 AM and 6 PM.
  • Be primarily on-site from Monday to Thursday, with limited hybrid possibilities depending on the profile.
  • Handle peak workloads at month-end, year-end, and busier periods, with time recovery favored.
  • Benefit from insurance (disability, supplemental health, life), paid leave, and equal contribution to the RRSP.
  • Access an employee assistance program, company events, on-site gym, and on-site parking.
  • Have a closed office in a primarily on-site environment; use Power BI and Maestro.
Assets — to accelerate your impact
  • Have an understanding of the construction sector.
  • Have experience in project accounting.

If you wish to play a strategic, structuring, and concrete role at the heart of decisions, this position will allow you to leave a lasting mark on the financial performance and growth of the organization.

All applications will be treated confidentially.

Only candidates selected will be contacted.
