Forest Technician Elkins, West Virginia
Our Elkins, WV forestry team seeks a highly motivated, Full Time Forestry Technician to join our progressive,
growing team. The ideal candidate will reside near one of these five (5) West Virginia communities: Elkins,
Buckhannon. Weston, Flatwoods, or Summersville. A two-year or four-year degree in Forestry or closely related
field is required, or applicants must have 2+ years of practical field forestry/timber procurement experience.
Interviewing/ Hiring timeline: Open
Principal Duties Include:
Timber inventory (cruising)
Timber sale preparation (timber marking)
Forest data collection, including GPS and photographic information
Other duties related to forest management for our long-term clients
Principal Requirements include:
An Associate's (or higher) degree in Forestry, Forest Technology, or Environmental Biology, or 2 years
minimum of practical field forestry experience is required.
Individuals with a B.S. degree in Forest Science/Forest Management, Natural Resources, or Environmental
Sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
Must be competent in tree species identification, and with forest mensuration techniques, including point
sampling, plot sampling, and 100% inventory methods.
Basic knowledge of common computer/office software.
Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability and willingness to work out of town as assigned for 1-2 week time periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Starting Compensation: $18.00 $19.00 per hour, depending on experience; paid over-time
