Position Summary
O'ahu Ace Handyman Services seeks a highly motivated, experienced professional to join our leadership team as our Field Supervisor. This unique hybrid role combines day-to-day supervision of field operations with strategic business growth responsibilities on O'ahu.
Our Field Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high-quality work across a wide range of handyman and remodeling services-including carpentry, drywall, flooring, tiling, painting, fixture installations, repairs, and light renovations. This leader ensures all operations comply with Hawaii state contractor licensing requirements, OSHA safety standards, and employment laws.
The ideal candidate possesses a valid Hawaii General Contractor's License, has extensive experience in home repair or remodeling, and demonstrates the leadership, organizational, and entrepreneurial skills needed to grow the business and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Leadership
  • - Develop the business to meet or exceed annual servicing goals.
  • - Actively promote and market O'ahu Ace Handyman Services throughout the island, building relationships with homeowners, property managers, commercial clients, and community partners.
  • - Identify new revenue opportunities within the full scope of services Ace Handyman offers nationwide, from minor repairs to more extensive home improvement projects.
  • - Define, recruit, and supervise staff positions required for successful, scaled operations.
  • - Contribute to strategic planning with the Owner to expand the customer base and service offerings.

Operations & Field Supervision
  • - Act as the primary point of contact for field staff questions and support.
  • - Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of craftspeople in multiple disciplines, ensuring mastery of a variety of services: carpentry, drywall, flooring, tiling, painting, light plumbing/electrical, repairs, and installations.
  • - Conduct regular site visits to observe and ensure quality work, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with contract specifications.
  • - Implement and manage KPIs to measure productivity, service quality, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • - Ensure compliance with Hawaii OSHA regulations, workers' compensation requirements, and state-specific construction and labor laws.

Project & Budget Management
  • - Oversee day-to-day activities to successfully complete projects, including scheduling, troubleshooting, procurement, billing, and collections.
  • - Monitor and manage operating budgets, revising as necessary to meet business targets.
  • - Specify repairs, estimate project costs accurately, and assist with material procurement.
  • - Ensure proper documentation of projects and maintenance of records in compliance with state regulations.

Quality Control & Customer Experience
  • - Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally, including on-site evaluations when necessary.
  • - Conduct quality control inspections across all service types to maintain O'ahu Ace Handyman Services' 1-Year Workmanship Guarantee and Service Path standards.
  • - Co-host monthly TEAM meetings to promote communication, safety, professional development, and a culture of excellence.
  • - Maintain at least 20 billable hours per month to stay engaged with field realities and lead by example.

Required Qualifications
  • - Valid Hawaii General Contractor License (B or C classification).
  • - Minimum 5 years of professional experience in home repair, remodeling, or construction trades.
  • - Proven supervisory or management experience, preferably leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • - Broad knowledge of multiple handyman and construction services (carpentry, drywall, tile, flooring, painting, minor plumbing/electrical, installations, and repairs).
  • - Strong understanding of Hawaii state building codes, OSHA safety standards, labor laws, workers' compensation requirements, and general contractor compliance.
  • - Ability to estimate repairs, manage projects, and oversee both residential and light commercial jobs.
  • - Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • - Demonstrated judgment, integrity, and dedication to high-quality customer service.
  • - Experience in project planning; experience starting or growing a small business is highly desirable.
  • - Proficiency with computers and digital tools related to project management, scheduling, and communication.
