These skills and qualities are critical for producing high-quality, safe welds and maintaining efficiency in demanding fabrication environments.

Tig Welders often encounter challenges such as maintaining precise control over the welding torch and filler material, especially when working with thin metals or complex joint configurations. Achieving consistent weld quality requires a steady hand and attention to detail, as well as an understanding of different metal types and their reactions to heat. To overcome these challenges, welders can benefit from ongoing training, using proper protective equipment, and collaborating closely with engineering and fabrication teams to clarify project specifications. What does a TIG welder do?

A TIG (tungsten inert gas) welder is a welding professional who specializes in using TIG arc welding equipment. A welder is someone who is highly skilled at joining pieces of metal for construction and manufacturing purposes. These joints must be very strong and highly accurate. A TIG welder uses an arc welder fueled by tungsten inert gas to perform a process known as GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding). This is usually used to join thin, non-ferrous metals, like stainless steel.

What is a TIG welder?

TIG welders are skilled tradespeople who use Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding to join metal parts together, primarily using a non-consumable tungsten electrode and a shielding gas, often argon. TIG welding is valued for its precision and ability to produce clean, high-quality welds on a variety of metals, including stainless steel and aluminum. TIG welders work in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, and aerospace, often interpreting blueprints and ensuring welds meet strict specifications. This role requires careful hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and knowledge of safety procedures.

About SEEK Careers/Staffing

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

SEEK was founded in 1971 by Carol Ann Schneider, CPC, SPHR, a Grafton, Wisconsin resident. The name SEEK was derived from a combination of initials in Carol’s family. It was a tradition that names derived in such a way would bring success to that person or business. So, from Carol’s home, SEEK assignment employees were sent to serve the temporary needs of Ozaukee County business people. The business grew and was eventually incorporated in 1975. The Grafton office expanded from Carol’s home to several other buildings in town before finally settling in their current location on Opportunity Drive in Grafton in 1997. Currently, there are 19 total branch offices with 16 located throughout Wisconsin and a recent acquisition has expanded SEEK’s portfolio to 3 branch offices in the Twin Cities.
