Job description

Tidewell Foundation, a member of Empath Health, serves as the philanthropic engine that inspires generosity advancing extraordinary Full Life Care throughout Southwest Florida (Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and Desoto Counties). As part of Empath Health's One Empath Philanthropy Division, the President of Tidewell Foundation serves as the senior philanthropic leader for the Foundation and a key member of the Empath Philanthropy Leadership Team.
Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the President is responsible for advancing philanthropic investment, colleague and volunteer leadership, community influence, strategic partnerships, resale operations, and donor engagement across the Foundation's service area. This role leads the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies that support both local priorities and enterprise-wide initiatives.
What you'll Do:
  • Serve as the senior philanthropic leader for Tidewell Foundation, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising and community engagement strategy aligned with the Philanthropy Division and Empath Health's mission, strategic plan, and Full Life Care vision.
  • Establish annual and multi-year philanthropic growth strategies that expand revenue, strengthen donor engagement, and increase long-term sustainability.
  • Represent the Foundation and Empath Health at key community, donor, healthcare, and community events.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (15+) responsible for fundraising, a moves management approach to fundraising, donor relations, board engagement, operations, volunteer management, and earned revenue activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of Tidewell Foundation resale operations and other earned revenue enterprises.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable fundraising, governance, financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-informed decision-making.

What You'll Need
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience in philanthropy, healthcare philanthropy, nonprofit management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex fundraising organizations and achieving multimillion-dollar philanthropic revenue growth.
  • Experience securing transformational and principal gifts, leading comprehensive fundraising strategies, and managing significant donor portfolios.
  • Proven success working with governing boards, volunteer leaders, and influential community stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, master's degree preferred.
  • CFRE certification required or obtained within a designated timeframe.
  • Advanced fundraising, nonprofit management, or healthcare leadership credentials preferred.
