Summary of Position Functions
The manager will manage the on-going support and optimization of installed systems that control various commercial systems including HVAC, lighting, and access control. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team consisting of Controls Service Engineers throughout various region/regions that provide customer support, regular system maintenance, and customer meetings.

Essential Position Functions

  • Participates in service deliverables and customer meetings.
  • Assists with and manages building automation service projects by leading progress meetings and assisting control engineers in timely project deliverables.
  • Responds to and rectifies escalated customer issues.
  • Creates and manages a schedule for all service projects, MSA renewal and execution timelines.
  • Communicates with customers to deliver a customer driven, quality product.
  • Communicates with internal project managers and sales team to schedule regular project turnover meetings to service for execution of customer warranty and contracts.
  • Assigns and manages service engineering tasks.
  • Manages XOI/Vision process deliverables ensuring service engineering timely work order status, deliverables, and job completion.
  • Refines management and process standards for the service control engineers.
  • Develops and refines turnover process from project close-out to service handoff.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to; managing Controls Engineers across three regions, managing service MSA contract deliverables, manpower management, training schedules, customer deliverables, periodic customer meetings including but not limited to onsite visits requiring travel, quote generation, ticket system management and budget management.

Education and Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software or related field; or ten+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years in building automation system design, implementation, and project management or; 4+ years in building automation service management required.
  • Experience with Niagara is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience in the service industry related to Controls, Commercial HVAC, and Energy.
  • Ability to collaborate with other engineers to methodically solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Knowledge of computer applications preferred, including Visio, MS Project, Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure.
