Job description

Salary: DOE $25.00 to $35.00

Superior Thread Rolling Co.has been an industry leader in the Aerospace and Precision Machining business for over 70 years. We lead by developing "out-of-the-box" solutions to the constant changes in quality, administration, lean processes, and state-of-the-art technical systems required by Aerospace prime contractors and their supply chain. A $2,500 retention bonus available after completion of six months of employment.


POSITION SUMMARY:
The team member is expected to take a wider view of their job and its impact on the organization. These Team members are responsible for the work center overall goals, organization, procedures, outcomes, attitude, education, expectations and work habits. Each team member shall strive to achieve all the levels within Job Level Matrix, which includes but are not limited to Set up and operate various thread rolling machines, and support chamfer and roll threads on parts and components according to specifications and router instructions.

Must have experience working in a Machine shop Environment and must have experience with threads or thread rolling.


Our work schedule for this position is 6:30AM to 3:00 PM

Pay for this position is $25.00 to $35.00 Hourly


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Selects jobs based on priority lists generated by M1 computer and input from production control manager.
Uses traveler to PUNCH in & out of both setup & production as stated in router instructions.
Performs the operation outlined in sequence number of the router instructions and records all pertinent inspection and data on the router card.
Create machine setup cards by customer/part number recording pertinent machine settings and any special part/setup instructions.
Maintain die condition/use cards by thread size recording any pertinent die condition data and times used, number of PCs etc.
Selects, installs, and adjusts threading dies, steady rests, pressure tripping mechanism, cams, gears and pulleys, using screwdrivers and wrenches.
Lifts parts manually or with hoist and positions and secures part in lathe machines

Must be familiar working with stainless, carbon steel, titanium, Inconel, and many other exotic materials

Must know how to work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions
Starts machines and actuates lever to perform chamfering operation.
Verifies dimensions of work pieces with specifications, using single element gauges and ring gauges.
Observes thread roll dies in operation to ensure proper functioning and replaces, repairs and resets them as necessary.
Examines samples from each machine for burrs, ragged edges, or scratches and determines that dimensions are within prescribed tolerances, using variety of gauges and measuring tools.
Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
Visually observe, troubleshoot and report non-conforming conditions, either product or process to supervisor or manager as required.
Participate in 6s, self-development and training of others and perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality parts throughout production using sample plans.
