Job Overview
Machine Operator I is an entry-level role within the Glass room responsible for
operating presses and Glass dies and equipment. This individual ensures parts meet
quality standards by inspecting defects, following router instructions, completing
paperwork, and supporting first articles and production buyoffs. Safety, accuracy, and
compliance are essential in this position
Shift:
Monday-Friday
2nd shift 2:30PM - 10:00PM
Duties:
-Operate Glass press machinery safely and efficiently according to provided work instructions and operating manuals
· Perform visual and dimensional inspections of molded parts, identifying any defects and ensuring compliance with customer specifications
· Complete first article inspections and support production buyoffs with the quality team
· Maintain accurate documentation including time slips, routers, and work instruction forms
· Follow daily production schedules and maintain pace to meet output standards
· Adhere to defined quality control processes and escalate any deviations or issues
· Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, or other precision tools
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures
· Successfully complete all required machinery and safety training
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with leadership to ensure process flow
Qualifications:
· No prior experience required; willingness to learn and follow instruction
· Ability to read and understand technical documents including operating manuals, routers, and safety protocols
- Basic math, measurement, and documentation skills
· Dependable and punctual, able to maintain consistent attendance
· Ability to stand for extended periods and handle manual tasks in a manufacturing environment.
· CAPABILITIES PERFORM ANY ASSEMBLY-TYPE FUNCTION OPERATES MICROSCOPES TO CLEAN, CAPABILITY TO LIFT AT LEAST 25 LBS .
