Bryn Mawr College invites applications for apublic historian, archivist,scholar,or journalist withexpertisein post-nineteenth-century American collegiate life, women's/gender history,African Americanhistory and/or intersectional histories, and digital scholarship.Reporting directly to the Vice President, Chief InformationOfficer,and Constance A. Jones Director of Libraries, the successful candidate willpartner withtheBryn Mawr College community on a series of initiatives related toBryn Mawr College Historiesand its place in the present higher education landscape.

Characteristic Responsibilities:Drawing on work completed at the College over the last few years throughWho Built Bryn Mawr,Art Remediating Campus Histories (ARCH), and related initiatives, this researcher will:

• Build a comprehensive historical timeline of the College and future research agenda, framing existingscholarshipsandidentifyingareas and periods whereadditionalscholarly examination iswarranted.

• Identifyprimary historical themes and threads through archival research and literature review to best illustrate the story of Bryn Mawr College and its graduates' impact onthe world.

• Partner with College leadership and constituents to review and integrate historical storytellingandinstitutionalimpactinto public-facing venues.

• Conduct targeted historical research as needed to inform College communicationsand marketing, including presidential writing and speaking, materials for members of the on-campus community, alumnae/ipublications, recruitmentmaterials,etc.

• Collaborate with leadership in the faculty, student, staff, andalumnae/acommunities to connect the College's history to its future.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in history, public history, museum studies, or a related field with equivalent education, training, and/or experience.(PhD or terminal degree preferred).

• Demonstrated experience in archival or publichistoryresearch and teaching.

• Strong record of community-engaged scholarship or programming.

• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills astheyrelate tothecommunity.

• Experiencein creative, innovative, and engaging storytelling.

• Experience and comfort with digital scholarship techniques and toolsispreferred.
