Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ongoing assessment and rapid identification of changes in condition
  • Crisis intervention and management
  • Provide ongoing patient and family education
  • Facilitate and arrange for appropriate discharge plan
  • Support the Emergency Dept. and nursing professionals by participating in dept. meetings and serving on hospital committees.

Requirements:

  • Valid NYS Nursing Licensure
  • Minimum 1-year med / surg experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Qualifications:

  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred
  • Prior ED or Critical Care experience
  • Basic Coronary Care Course within 8 months of employment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to function as a member of a team
  • ED experience preferred; exceptional candidates from other backgrounds considered
  • Flexibility required to work varied shifts including weekends and holiday rotation
