General Surgeon Opportunity At Atrium Health Anson

We are seeking a surgeon with a collaborative mindset, broad general surgery interests, and a passion for improving access to surgical care in underserved communities.

Atrium Health Anson serves as a healthcare hub for the region by providing Emergency Department care, inpatient services, primary care, and specialty care access for surrounding communities.

The hospital offers advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities, including:

  • Stress Echocardiography
  • Cardiac Stress Testing

As a critical access hospital within the Advocate Health network, Atrium Health Anson provides physicians with the opportunity to practice meaningful community medicine while benefiting from the resources and clinical support of one of the nation's premier integrated healthcare systems.

  • Practice broad-spectrum general surgery in a rural community approximately one hour from Charlotte.
  • Opportunity to provide elective, urgent, and emergent general surgical care.
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients and referring providers while serving as a valued member of the local medical community.
  • Shared call coverage through Atrium Health Union Surgical Associates, with call responsibilities of approximately four weeknights per month and no more than one in every four weekends.
  • Benefit from collaboration with the established surgical program at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, located approximately 35 miles away, providing access to additional surgical expertise, specialty resources, and professional support.
  • EPIC electronic medical record platform.

Training and/or Experience Required

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.
  • Interest in rural and community-based practice.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.
