What is third party liability?

Third party liability refers to the legal responsibility one party has for damages or injuries caused to another party (the third party) due to negligence or accidental actions. In insurance, third party liability coverage helps protect the policyholder from financial loss if they are found legally liable for such damages or injuries. This coverage is common in auto, business, and property insurance policies, providing compensation for medical costs, property repairs, and legal fees. It is an essential component for individuals and businesses to mitigate the risk of lawsuits and significant financial burdens.
