Job description

Responsibilities:

·       Identifying and coordinating development of appropriates research data and writing reports to support TBI’s campaigns and special projects

·       Gathering information through desk research as well as field research, both qualitative and quantitative – including site visits, interviews, surveys, networking, attending public meetings and industry events, etc.

·       Synthesizing relevant facts from a large amount of information and providing summary and analysis of findings

·       Work closely, and coordinate research with staff and partnering organizations

·       Compile year-round reports as determined by the executive board

·       Identifying individuals, institutions and organizations that operate in TBI’s areas of interest

·       Attending events on weekends as needed – hearings, conferences, meetings, etc.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree Preferred.

·       At least two (2) years of experience in a nonprofit, political science, or public policy sector

·       Experience with research-based writing.

·       Interest in racial justice and social equality

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Critical thinker with positive attitude

·       Cooperative team player with the ability to work independently

·       Skills in organizing and effectively communicating research findings

·       Editing and proofreading skills

·       Strong analytical skills
