Job description

Job Summary:
The PM Thermoforming Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery that transforms recycled plastic into sustainable egg cartons. This role includes setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the thermoforming machine, building and stacking pallets, and ensuring quality and efficiency in the production process. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting Hickman’s sustainability initiatives.


Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Operate thermoforming machine, monitoring computer screens and interacting with equipment controls to ensure smooth operation.
  • Load and feed thermoform rolls and recycled plastic flakes onto the machine for continuous production.
  • Unload and replace thermoform rolls as needed to support efficient workflow.
  • Palletize finished products and use inventory management systems to scan and document finished goods.
  • Perform routine quality checks to verify that products meet company standards for consistency and durability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization around the work area, following safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, including proper use of PPE, and follow all workplace safety procedures.
  • Communicate with management and team members to report key issues, machine status, or any concerns impacting production.
Requirements and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift or more.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as the facility operates 24/7.
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods.
