Job description

The Tutoring Center in Pennington, NJ is seeking an Instructor who has a fun, outgoing personality and a passion for tutoring school-age children in Reading, Writing, and Math. The applicant must have patience, possess a positive attitude, and enjoy working with children. Most importantly, the applicant must be ready to commit to our five principles: integrity, quality, enthusiasm, exceptional service, and teamwork.

The Tutoring Center, a national tutoring company located in Pennington, New Jersey, has an exciting opportunity for a Tutor to join the team.

Job Description

Our Instructors deliver high-quality, high-impact tutoring to K-12 students in Reading, Writing, and Math. An instructor must have the ability to tutor advanced math, including Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Calculus would be a plus. The Instructors are also required to teach Reading and Writing skills while making each session enjoyable for the students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhere to The Tutoring Center’s proven system
  • Monitor and track student progress
  • Assist in the training/development of new instructors
  • Maintain attendance records

Requirements include:

  • Pass the Math and Staff Assessment
  • Completion of the franchise training program that begins with tutoring students in Reading, Writing and Math
  • Available Monday – Thursday, 3:30 – 7:30pm

The ideal candidate for this position possesses experience in the classroom or a similar one-on-one tutoring experience. He or she must have the following characteristics: (1) demonstrate genuine care for children and a love of learning; (2) take initiative; (3) perform duties cheerfully; (4) think creatively; (5) exhibit an outgoing personality and high enthusiasm; (6) comfortable talking with parents and students; (7) remain focused on constant improvement; (8) stay organized; and (9) Math expertise through calculus a plus (math assessment at time of interview).
