Quality Control Lab Technician | $26.00 per hour | 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, Temp/Contract

  • Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, rotating bi-weekly schedule with a five-day workweek one week and a four-day workweek the following week

Job Description
An established manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to support quality testing and inspection activities at its Houston facility. This hands-on role is responsible for testing incoming raw materials and finished products, inspecting production processes, and maintaining accurate quality records. The ideal candidate brings previous quality control and chemical/laboratory testing experience within a manufacturing environment. Reliability, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly are important for success in this position.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Test incoming raw materials and finished product batches according to established standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect incoming finished goods and production lines to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records and product retention samples.
  • Assist with product complaint investigations, special quality projects, and Research & Development projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory area to support a safe working environment.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous quality control experience required.
  • Chemical/laboratory testing experience required.
  • Hands-on manufacturing industry experience working in a laboratory required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and math.
  • Good mechanical capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable, quick to learn, and able to maintain a positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both laboratory/office and warehouse environments and wear appropriate PPE when required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform hands-on laboratory activities as required.
  • Chemical lab experience is preferred.
