JOB TITLE: Lounge Server

DEPARTMENT: Bar / Lounge

LOCATION: El Encanto - Santa Barbara, CA

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of F&B

SCOPE AND PURPOSE:

As a Lounge Server at El Encanto, you are at the center of the guest experience. While the energy of the lounge is relaxed and convivial, your attention to detail, timing, and presence set the tone for each interaction. This role is rooted in anticipation, clear communication, and seamless execution of service from the first greet to the final sendoff.

The Lounge Server is responsible for creating a warm, composed, and personalized experience for every guest. This position requires strong product knowledge, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage a section with grace and precision. As an ambassador of the brand, the Lounge Server expresses El Encanto's ethos through thoughtful hospitality, refined language, and genuine care.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Experience

Greet guests warmly within one minute of being seated.

Guide guests through food and beverage menus with confidence and clarity.

Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalized service.

Maintain a calm, gracious, and professional demeanor at all times.

Handle guest concerns with empathy, urgency, and professionalism.

Provide a warm, sincere sendoff that reflects genuine care.

Steps of Service Execution

Follow all El Encanto service standards from greet to check drop.

Take accurate food and beverage orders, including all modifications and allergies.

Enter orders into the POS system with accuracy and proper position numbers.

Manage coursing, pacing, and communication with the kitchen and bar.

Perform two-sip and two-bite checks to ensure guest satisfaction.

Maintain clear, continuous communication with server assistants and managers.

Beverage & Wine Service

Present and describe wine, cocktails, and beverage offerings confidently.

Open and present wine at the table when appropriate.

Pour and maintain beverages according to service standards.

Monitor bar timing and communicate delays to management when necessary.

Table Maintenance & Section Ownership

Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready section at all times.

Clear, mark, and reset tables between courses with discretion.

Monitor glassware, silverware, and table cleanliness throughout the meal.

Coordinate with server assistants to ensure seamless execution.

Treat each table as a curated, personalized experience.

Team Collaboration

Communicate clearly and respectfully with managers and teammates.

Participate in daily lineup and pre-shift briefings.

Support team members during busy periods.

Follow all operational and property-wide service standards.

Service Standards & Professional Conduct

Use elevated, articulate, and guest-focused language.

Maintain strong eye contact, positive body language, and a genuine smile.

Demonstrate anticipatory service and emotional intelligence.

Uphold all LQA and property service standards at all times.
