COMPANY BACKGROUND At Taza Chocolate we make stone ground, organic chocolate. We grind quality ingredients using only stone mills to make a minimally processed chocolate unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. JOB SUMMARY Taza is organized into three major functions at its Somerville operation: Production, Sales & Marketing, and Operations. The Sales Account Manager is responsible for New Business Development, and maintaining and growing existing relationships with Taza Chocolate's current direct retail accounts, while identifying potential new customer segments and business opportunities and supporting the CEO and Director of Marketing in managing the national and international distribution channels. Primary responsibilities include developing & managing relationships with our direct customer channel, and providing key administrative and service tasks for all Taza sales channels.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Sales Management  * Manage and grow our business on the Faire platform. * Execute sales activities by phone and email outreach in direct account channels. * With the CEO and Director of Marketing, develop and execute pricing & promotion strategy.  * Develop and execute sales growth strategy for assigned channels. * Support outside brokers and national sales team, as needed. * Participate and assist in planning for key trade show events. * Follow-up on trade show leads and customer inquiries to vet new sales opportunities in alternate channels. Customer Service * Order entry for UNFI, KeHe and other channels as needed to support the sales administration staff when needed. * Order entry for independent direct retail accounts (and other overflow, as needed). * Maintain relationships with all culinary and independent retail accounts. * Establish customer service protocols for direct channels. * Develop and execute communication strategies for outreach to independent direct retail accounts including e-newsletter and new product alerts. * Handle customer issues like OSS, missing-damaged-shorted items, quality concerns and tracking mistakes.  Administration & Outside Representative Support  * Update & maintain price lists and promo calendar template for direct channel. * Maintain new item paperwork and provide product updates to the customer base. * Provide input on production forecast and liaison with production to ensure inventory needs are met. * Populate and maintain direct independent retail account database of potential customers. * Assist in budget planning for direct sales channels. EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. * Ability to think strategically and plan. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. * Proficiency in MS Office and strong experience using Excel. * Patient and positive attitude with an ability to work well under pressure. * We are a small company and everyone is expected to pitch in where help is needed, regardless of their role. Team players only! LOCATION AND HOURS This is a full-time, exempt position, with occasional travel requirements. The employee is expected to work at least 40 hours per week, and be able to work physically in our office in Somerville, MA at least 4 days each week for the first 6 months in the role. Thereafter, work location will be managed at the discretion of the CEO. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This is a full-time position and is eligible for Taza's full benefit package including: * Paid time off * Medical, dental, vision insurance programs with an HRA option * Group life and long-term disability * Additional voluntary benefits  * Paid Family and Medical leave * And plenty of great chocolate! The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $78,000 annually (depending on experience) plus bonus incentives up to 20% of base salary.
