HOUSE PERSON
Housekeeping is one of the most important jobs for maintaining our hotel in a safe, attractive and comfortable condition for our guests. The Embassy Suites in Rockford, IL is looking for a full time House Person who is committed to providing first class services as part of a collaborative team.

If you want to have fun, be valued and make a difference, apply today!As a House Person on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
  • Clean floors, walls, surfaces, concrete, stairs, toilets, sinks, light fixtures, and other hotel areas using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Assisting housekeeping and other departments with delivering items and assisting guests, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Dust all furniture, fixtures, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly throughout all public areas, office, breakroom, laundry areas, etc.
  • Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash.
  • Replenish supplies in public restrooms and employee break areas.
  • Sign for keys, retrieve, push cart to cleaning area and restock heavy cart. Visually inspect work for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hotel houseman/housekeeping and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces. Perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion and/or fine motor skills.
  • Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to speak English and interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
  • Ability to assist with light maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.
