Job description

Kansas City, KS
The Resident Automation Technician II supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site's performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician II must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
This is an onsite position for our customer in Kansas City, KS
Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:30pm - 4:00am
What you'll be handling
  • Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems. Lead maintenance efforts to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues requiring in-depth technical knowledge.
  • Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
  • Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.

What you'll need
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments.
  • Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
  • Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
