Job description

The Controls Commissioning Onsite Supervisor supervises the onsite controls commissioning activities for material-handling solutions and production lines. The Controls Commissioning Onsite Supervisor liaises among controls engineering, electrical engineering, installation, and project management, while managing schedules, tracking activities, and reporting on project deliverables. This position is a travel-based role that supervises the onsite commissioning of TGW's material-handling solutions at various customer facilities.
What you'll be handling
  • Lead the execution of commissioning tasks, ensuring all systems are tested, calibrated, and verified according to project requirements.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact between engineering, installation, controls, and project management teams during the commissioning phase.
  • Enforces OSHA safety procedures and ensure all commissioning work adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Controls Project Manager to update and adapt detailed commissioning plans and schedules in response to site progress, ensuring timelines are maintained and adjustments are made as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Tracks all commissioning activities, test results, and system modifications for turnover and client handover packages.
  • Provides progress updates, lead walkthroughs, handovers, and address questions or concerns from clients and stakeholders.
What you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) or associate degree and equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of hands-on Controls Engineering experience, preferably with project management responsibilities.
  • Robust knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings.
  • Prior experience in formal or informal leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working on full design-to-production project lifecycles.
