Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Asset and Administrative Management Division, 1 vacancy located in Washington, DC.Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
Degree in textile technology.
OR

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in textile technology that included at least 20 semester hours in textile technology and closely related subjects, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
  • Analyzing textile, apparel, or uniform test reports; interpreting technical findings; drawing conclusions; and communicating results to management or stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the development of technical requirements or specifications for textile, apparel, or uniform items.
  • Assisting with the development of textile, apparel, or uniform testing plans, inspection procedures, or quality review methods.
  • Preparing reports, briefings, or presentations on the testing and evaluation of textile, apparel, or uniform items.
