Job description

Job Title: Production Lead - Cutting & Marker Maker
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
Pay Range: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Production Lead - Cutting & Marker Maker to join our Production team. In this role, you will coordinate daily cutting operations, create and optimize production markers, and support the efficient execution of production schedules. You will work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure materials are processed accurately, production goals are achieved, and continuous improvement initiatives are supported. This hands-on leadership role provides technical guidance to operators, supports equipment setup and troubleshooting, and helps drive safety, quality, and productivity throughout the cutting department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily cutting and production activities by prioritizing workflow, supporting schedule attainment, and ensuring work orders are executed efficiently
  • Support production startups, machine changeovers, work order transitions, and shift handoffs to maintain operational continuity
  • Provide hands-on support to operators by assisting with equipment setup, tooling verification, process adjustments, and troubleshooting
  • Analyze production schedules and develop optimized marker and cutting plans by grouping materials, products, and work orders to maximize material utilization and production efficiency
  • Create, modify, validate, and maintain digital markers and cut files using Optitex software to support production and product development requirements
  • Verify marker dimensions, grading, nesting accuracy, specifications, and file integrity to ensure compliance with customer requirements and manufacturing standards
  • Maintain organization, revision control, and accuracy of marker files, templates, production documentation, and related records
  • Monitor production quality, documentation, traceability records, and operational activities to ensure compliance with GMP requirements, work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies
  • Identify, document, and escalate production, quality, material, equipment, and process issues while supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Train, mentor, and cross-train employees on cutting operations, equipment use, markers, cut files, and standard operating procedures to promote workforce capability and consistency
  • Promote workplace organization, Lean Manufacturing principles, safety awareness, and operational excellence while identifying opportunities to improve productivity, material utilization, and manufacturing performance
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Apparel Design, Engineering Technology, or a related preferred
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment, preferably within cut-and-sew, textile, medical device, contract manufacturing setting
  • 2 years of experience creating, modifying, or supporting production markers using Optitex, Gerber AccuMark, Lectra, or similar CAD software
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, work instructions, and production documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software systems

The salary range is based on several factors which will vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include but not limited to education, work experience, scope and responsibilities of position and geographic location.
