Posted 13 days ago

Job description

A Kansas City, MO manufacturer is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to own its ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and lead the QA inspection team. The Quality Assurance Manager runs internal and external audits, drives corrective action to closure, and partners with production and supply chain to resolve quality issues at the source. This is a full-time, on-site role in a manufacturing environment supporting both commercial and government contract production.

What We Offer

  • Base salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience and audit background.
  • Full ownership of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system rather than a narrow slice of it.
  • Direct supervision of the QA inspection team, including annual reviews, coaching, and timecard approval.
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, on site in the Kansas City metro.
  • Exposure to government contract quality requirements alongside commercial production work.

Key Responsibilities - Quality Assurance Manager

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems and procedures. Keep the site audit-ready for ISO 9001:2015 surveillance and re-certification cycles.
  • Lead internal and external audits and train internal auditors to the standard. Verify that process owners follow documented processes and use current document revisions.
  • Supervise and mentor the QA inspection team, including annual reviews, disciplinary reviews, and timecard approval.
  • Analyze and document corrective action responses when a non-conformance arises. Monitor implementation and measure results to confirm the issue is fully closed.
  • Manage the system tracking government quality approvals and planned deliveries of finished textile goods, and maintain calibration and quality records.

Qualifications - Quality Assurance Manager

  • Bachelor's degree required; BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Hands-on experience with regulatory audits and compliance standards, including ISO 9001:2015.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and general numeracy applied to quality data and inspection results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.

Preferred Qualifications - Quality Manager

  • Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Trained or certified ISO 9001 internal auditor.
  • Background in sewn products, textiles, or another discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with government contract quality requirements and defense agency inspection processes.
  • Working knowledge of calibration programs and measurement system analysis.

Physical Requirements - Quality Assurance Manager

  • Lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand and walk the production floor for extended periods during inspections and audits.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and warm and cool conditions.
  • Full-time, on-site, day shift; no regular overnight travel expected.
  • Use standard inspection and measurement equipment as part of daily work.
