What is the opportunity?

As a member of the Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Operational Risk team, you will lead a critical function that strengthens RBC's operational resilience. In this role, you'll lead a team responsible to design and execute sophisticated integrated scenario testing strategies that validate our ability to navigate supplier disruptions and activate business continuity plans when it matters most. You will also collaborate with procurement, IT, legal, and business units to design realistic, high-impact tabletop exercises that expose vulnerabilities and build organizational confidence.

What will you do?

  • Design and implement a comprehensive testing framework for supplier exit strategies and business continuity plans, aligned with RBC's risk appetite and regulatory requirements
  • Develop annual and quarterly testing roadmaps with defined scope, timelines, scenarios, and stakeholder engagement protocols
  • Establish and monitor key risk indicators and success metrics across all testing programs
  • Create interactive dashboards (e.g., via Tableau, Power BI) to visualize test results, compliance status, and risk trends
  • Lead a team who executes end-to-end tabletop exercises simulating high-impact scenarios (supplier disruptions, IT outages, cyber incidents, geopolitical events) to demonstrate PB & CB's resiliency for our most critical operations
  • Orchestrate cross-functional participation and ensure realistic, actionable scenario design
  • Document lessons learned, process gaps, and remediation actions with clear ownership and accountability
  • Partner closely with the Operational Resiliency and BCM team to collaborate effectively to ensure a coordinated approach with our product teams
  • Build relationships across business units, risk teams, and 2nd line GRM partners

What will you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Expertise in operational risk frameworks, BCP/disaster recovery, and supplier risk management
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools
  • Proven Operational risk/Operational Resiliency experience
  • Experience leading or participating in tabletop exercises
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability
  • Strong problem-solving skills to interpret complex risk scenarios
  • Exceptional written/verbal skills for technical and executive audiences
  • Strong initiative, curiosity to learn more, be a self-starter
  • Adaptability, be flexible to work through ambiguity
