Niyam is seeking a Testing Lead/Architect to join our team in support of our work with a federal client. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. This leadership position focuses on directing a comprehensive testing organization for high-scale enterprise applications. The role requires a strategic approach to automated testing, performance engineering, and accessibility compliance to maintain robust software quality standards. Candidate must be able to work onsite at client location in Ashburn, VA at least 4 days/week.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of over 30 specialists, including automated testers, performance testers, and accessibility testers.
  • Manage and scale Kubernetes-based environments for performance testing and automated test grids.
  • Drive the evolution of Java-based testing frameworks to support modern tools like Playwright alongside existing Selenium implementations.
  • Oversee the consolidation of complex performance data into actionable reports using automation and data visualization tools.
  • Champion BDD-driven accessibility testing to ensure software meets high-level compliance standards.
  • Develop bespoke scripts and internal tools using Python, Node.js, or Go to automate data reporting, consolidate performance metrics, and streamline infrastructure tasks.

Requirements:
  • US Citizen with ability to successfully complete federal background investigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the IT field with a proven record of excelling at a diverse set of technical tasks.
  • Expert-level experience in building and maintaining pluggable automation frameworks.
  • Deep proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and Podman for infrastructure management.
  • Extensive experience working within enterprise cloud environments, specifically Amazon AWS.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain a high volume of complex CI/CD pipelines to support rapid deployment cycles.
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and Go for utility development and process automation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts and code demonstrations clearly to stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Must be local to Ashburn, VA and available to work onsite at least 4 days/week.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with mobile application testing (iOS and/or Android) including functional and usability testing.
