Engine Systems, Inc. is hiring a Shop Test Technician II in Rocky Mount, NC 27804


  • Perform specialized testing on components to support nuclear sales and production.
  • Read and perform written instructions in accordance with test procedures.
  • Perform basic electrical testing as assigned.
  • Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing.
  • Assist with failure analysis as required.
  • Perform disassembly inspection and assembly of various types of mechanical equipment utilized on diesel engines and steam turbines.
  • Read and comprehend equipment specific manuals as needed to become thoroughly familiar with customer products.
  • Complete required documentation as required.
  • Prepare samples for material testing.
  • Assist with Material Analysis utilizing the following equipment as required:
  • FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
  • XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence)
  • Hardness (Rockwell, Brinell, Knoop)
  • Carbon / Sulfur Determinator
  • Assist with Seismic testing utilizing tri-axial table simulation as required:
  • Set-up and assembly of test fixtures
  • Set-up of monitoring devices to support testing.
  • Configuration of table software to meet requirements.
  • General Operation and maintenance of the seismic table
  • Assist with environmental chamber component testing as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Safety:

  • Develop relationships with coworkers to better understand the processes and culture that affect safety.
  • Influence safety by evaluating safety performance, participating in safety meetings, targeting areas needing improvement and developing initiatives to impact the areas.
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable of Safe Work Policy.

Education/Experience:

Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and other part/assembly documentation.

High School diploma or Associates Degree in Manufacturing or related disciplines preferred, but not required.
