Job description

Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Systems Tester to join our team supporting United States Marine Corps command and control programs. In this role, you will plan, execute, and report on test activities for integrated Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) software systems, ensuring that the command and control capabilities delivered to Marines work as intended - individually and together. Your work directly supports the operational readiness of the systems warfighters rely on to plan and execute missions.

The candidate will:

  • Developing test plans, test procedures, and test cases for integrated MAGTF software systems
  • Planing, coordinating, and executing formal and informal testing events, including integration, regression, and interoperability testing
  • Testing MAGTF command and control software systems, including Global Command and Control System - Tactical Combat Operations (GCCS-TCO), Agile Client, Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), CHE, and related systems
  • Verifying system-of-systems integration and interoperability across MAGTF programs, identifying defects, gaps, and interoperability issues
  • Documenting test results, defect reports, and test summary reports, and track issues through resolution
  • Coordinating test event logistics, schedules, and resources with government, military, and contractor stakeholders
  • Supporting requirements traceability by mapping test procedures to system requirements and capabilities
  • Providing subject matter input on expected system behavior, operational employment, and realistic test scenarios
  • Briefing test status, results, and risk assessments to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Recommending improvements to test processes, tools, and procedures to increase efficiency and coverage

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field desired; equivalent professional experience is acceptable
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in software or systems testing, preferably in a DoD environment
  • Must possess a DoD 8140-approved cybersecurity certification (e.g., Security+) OR the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • Deep knowledge of MAGTF software systems and software, including systems such as GCCS-TCO, Agile Client, CAC2S, TAK, and CHE
  • Demonstrated experience developing test plans, test procedures, and test cases for complex software systems
  • Proven experience planning and running testing events, including coordinating participants, schedules, and resources
  • Experience with system integration and interoperability testing across multiple interconnected systems
  • Strong documentation skills, including writing defect reports, test results, and test summary reports
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, reliability, and conscientiousness in managing test schedules and resources to meet program deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Desired Skills
  • Prior military experience employing MAGTF command and control systems in an operational environment
  • Familiarity with DoD test and evaluation processes, including developmental test (DT) and operational test (OT) events
