Techtronic Industries Power Equipment, a subsidiary of TTI, has an opening in its Anderson, SC office for anEngineering Managerwho will support ourWalk Behind Mower Teamand be responsible and accountable for managing engineering technical contributions on assigned product development programs and the support of mature products. Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise, organize, schedule, direct, evaluate and motivate engineers during the product development process. Contributes to the advancement of basic business processes associated with the functional area. Advanced project leadership, multiple projects.
  • Responsible for managing project direction on assigned new product development programs and support of mature products. Applies industry leader experience and multiple project leadership.
  • Drive evolution of product function to interpret consumer/value driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing and reliability goals.
  • Using Concurrent Product Development philosophies, lead the design of product architecture and innovation suitable for high volume manufacturing processes. Provide overall management, including written and verbal instructions to design teams as needed to meet design and schedule goals.
  • Manage the selection of design execution alternatives. Monitor designs selected fulfill specification objectives. Ability to adjust communications to support project success.
  • Accountable for technical elements of product design. Provide training and guidance to assigned personnel for improvement and growth opportunities. Establish goals and objectives for each engineer with regular reviews and performance appraisal.
  • Monitor each project's phase-based prototype plan, development plan, engineering pilot plan and corresponding test program to prove merit of technical concepts and design guide/product specification compliance.
  • Attend design and safety reviews as needed to gain necessary approvals for product development phase progression.
  • Review project documentation including Engineering Change Masters and Bills of Material to ensure it is performed to standard.

Requirements

  • 4-year Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Engineering
  • Should include two years' experience in project management of multiple programs.
  • Ability to communicate across all functional areas and internationally.
  • Works with a sense of urgency, initiative and has the ability to work independently.
