Job description

FMS Aerospace is currently seeking an experienced full-time, permanent Program Manager for our Huntsville office location. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall direction. This position requires someone interested in integrated design teams where design, stress, and manufacturing work together to provide rapid solutions to unique design challenges. Another essential function for the successful candidate will be supporting junior engineers to develop their skills.

Responsibilities

Provide the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of a project
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Communicate with customer the status of the project
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans and schedules
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff
  • Manage all aspects of the project budget
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to the project team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Perform project evaluations and assessment of results


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Systems Integration, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years work experience
  • Ability to effectively manage time over several programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work proficiently with remotely located employees
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Must currently possess or be able to receive Department of Defense Secret clearance

  • Background in aviation airframe modifications is strongly preferred
  • Unanet experience is strongly preferred
  • DoD or Military experience is preferred
  • Experienced with Microsoft Projects is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus
