Job Summary
We are seeking a Test & Balance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Columbia, SC, supporting construction, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a reliable, detail-oriented technician with NEBB or AABC certification who enjoys hands-on field work, client interaction, technical documentation, and helping HVAC systems perform efficiently.
The Test & Balance Technician will play a key role in completing air and water balancing work, preparing accurate field reports, coordinating with internal teams, and supporting project execution from start to finish. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a professional, team-focused environment with supportive leadership, ongoing technical development, and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform test and balance work on assigned projects, including field measurements, system adjustments, documentation, and balancing logs.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, providing responsive communication, professional service, and project updates.
- Manage multiple projects, coordinate technician schedules, track project status, and ensure timely completion of field work.
- Collaborate with teammates, technicians, and the Operations Manager to communicate scope changes, manpower needs, and project expectations.
- Train and support technicians by providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and continuing education follow-up.
- Identify potential sales opportunities, support proposal efforts, and provide recommendations to improve system efficiency.

- Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and communication.
- Ability to comply with OSHA safety requirements and successfully complete pre-hire screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience performing test and balance work in commercial, industrial, construction, or infrastructure environments.
- Experience coordinating field technicians, project schedules, or client expectations.
- Strong understanding of HVAC system performance, airflow, water flow, and system efficiency.
- Previous experience supporting proposals, identifying service opportunities, or contributing to business development efforts.
