The Opportunity

We are looking for Engineers who are good at testing distributed systems. The job will include writing quality automation, finding issues in the product, triage & root cause issues and working closely with the product development team to get the issues fixed.

About the Team

The System Test team is tasked with test planning, test scenario design, and test case development to assess and improve the overall quality of our products. The role encompasses influencing product design by leveraging the broad knowledge of the product portfolio and ensuring that a quality-first mindset is instituted within our development practices. Also, automation of complex tests that mimic customer environments and workloads to ensure performance and scalability.
We're looking for a smart and creative test engineer who can enhance the existing automation framework and build a low-maintenance and elegant automated regression test library for Nutanix Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery products. We're looking for someone who is up to the demand of enhancing Dev and QA productivity by providing tools and libraries for automating our extensive suite of complex manual tests.

Your Role

  • Design framework extensions for new features.
  • Writing automated test-cases per requirements using the existing automation framework, and working with developers to address the bugs
  • QA Engineer should also be able to manually execute the end to end test plan.
  • Working closely with the development team to root cause the failures.
  • Robust functional test automation.
  • Execution of automated as well as manual test cases, triaging failures and reporting issues both in automation and product and driving them to closure.
  • Tracking feature’s health.

What You Will Bring

  • BE or MS in Computer Science is required.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of automation development experience.
  • Good exposure to automation development in Python.
  • Proficiency in designing complex test plans and automation plans is an added bonus.
  • Ability to debug complex issues and root cause failures.
  • Working closely with the development team to analyze and find the root cause of failures.
  • Experience in testing system products such as storage systems, file systems, database, operating systems, hypervisors and networking.
  • Good understanding of UNIX, preferably Linux.
  • Good understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM.
  • Experience in testing scalable performance distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT, build management tools and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Ability to write scripts and tools for development and debugging.
  • Basic understanding of web technologies (HTTP/S, JavaScript, JSON)
  • Understanding of selenium-based frameworks is a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 124,800 and USD $ 249,600 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
