We CGI is seeking an experienced QA Engineer / Test Automation Engineer who brings an "automation first" mindset and deep hands-on expertise in both API and UI test automation. This role is ideal for engineers who excel at building scalable automation frameworks, improving product quality, and leveraging modern AI driven tools to accelerate testing. You will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality software delivery across enterprise applications.
This is a Full-Time, On-Site employment opportunity based in Durham, NC.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Develop and execute API and UI automated tests using tools such as Bruno, RestAssured, Cypress, and Playwright.
. Architect, design, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks from the ground up.
. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, with strong experience using Jenkins.
. Partner with engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality gates.
. Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end to end testing across distributed systems.
. Utilize GenAI and AI driven development tools to accelerate test creation, improve coverage, and enhance overall testing productivity.
. Identify defects early, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement across QA processes.
. Support shift left testing practices and collaborate closely with developers to improve code quality.
. Maintain documentation, test plans, and best practices for automation and quality engineering.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 6 9 years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
. Strong hands-on experience with API and UI automation using Bruno, RestAssured, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
. Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins.
. Ability to design and build robust, scalable automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
. Solid understanding of testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect management processes.
. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
. Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows.
. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
. Experience leveraging GenAI tools to enhance testing efficiency and productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
. Experience with cloud-based testing environments or AWS services.
. Knowledge of performance testing or security testing tools.
. Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
