Job description

At Serve Robotics, we’re reimagining how things move in cities. Our personable sidewalk robot is our vision for the future. It’s designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses.

The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago while doing commercial deliveries. We’re looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.

Who We Are

We are tech industry veterans in software, hardware, and design who are pooling our skills to build the future we want to live in. We are solving real-world problems leveraging robotics, machine learning and computer vision, among other disciplines, with a mindful eye towards the end-to-end user experience. Our team is agile, diverse, and driven. We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.

As a Field Development Test Associate, you will play a crucial role in both testing and deploying our autonomous delivery robots. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our robots through hands-on testing, field operations, and real-world deployment. Your work will involve executing test plans, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, supporting commercial deliveries, and collaborating across engineering, product, and operations teams. This role blends quality assurance with hands-on operational execution to improve our product and scale our robotic fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, document, and track software/hardware defects, working closely with engineering teams for resolution.

  • Deploy, operate, and recover robots in the field, providing real-time troubleshooting and support.

  • Conduct commercial deliveries, serving as the primary operator and point of contact for merchants and customers.

  • Provide feedback on product functionality, operational issues, and software/hardware performance.

  • Develop and refine operational processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and scalability.

  • Maintain and uphold robot appearance, cleanliness, and readiness for deployment.

  • Assist in software development testing, automation, and data analysis for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Interest in robotics testing, field operations, logistics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to quality and testing.

  • Ability to work independently in high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments.

  • Comfortable walking/biking multiple miles per day and operating large vehicles.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience in field testing autonomous vehicles or robotic systems.

  • Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and familiarity with programming languages like Python or C++.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Looker Studio).

  • Passion for robotics, efficiency, and real-world automation.

This role is a dynamic mix of technical expertise, hands-on operations, and problem-solving in the field. If you're excited about ensuring the quality and success of cutting-edge robotics, we’d love to hear from you!
