Responsibilities

As an IC Test Engineering Summer Intern within the Keysight Labs/MMICs & Subsystems Organization at Keysight Technologies, you will contribute to the development, characterization, and validation of advanced monolithic millimeter-wave integrated circuits (MMICs), RF integrated circuits, and subsystems that enable next-generation electronic measurement solutions. Working alongside experienced IC test engineers, you will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave measurement technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and DC characterization tests for MMICs, RFICs, and advanced semiconductor devices.
  • Support design validation activities for leading-edge integrated circuits and subsystem technologies developed within Keysight Laboratories.
  • Develop software tools, scripts, and automated test solutions to improve measurement efficiency, test coverage, and data quality.
  • Analyze measurement data and prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with IC test engineers to define test requirements and verify circuit performance against design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot measurement setups, instrumentation, test software, and hardware-related issues.
  • Contribute to improvements in test methodologies, automation frameworks, and laboratory processes.
  • Document test procedures, calibration methods, and engineering best practices.
  • Present project results and technical conclusions to engineering teams at the completion of the internship.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Master's (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Academic focus in one or more of the following areas:
    • RF and microwave engineering
    • Millimeter-wave systems
    • Analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design
    • Electronic test and measurement
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with electrical measurements and instrumentation.
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar engineering software environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with RF, microwave, or millimeter-wave measurements.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, and Source Measure Units (SMUs).
  • Experience developing automated test software or data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and MMIC technologies.
  • Familiarity with on-wafer probing, calibration techniques, and semiconductor characterization methods.
  • Experience analyzing large measurement datasets using Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar tools.
  • Research or project experience involving MMICs, RFICs, III-V semiconductor technologies, high-frequency circuits, or advanced electronic measurement systems.

CA Pay Range- $47.76-$51.43

Based on experience, education and skills, most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed above.
