Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla is a leading company in energy solutions, seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Energy Software team. The role focuses on developing automation tools and full-stack applications for Tesla's Megapack and Supercharger systems, ensuring high reliability and performance in the field.
Responsibilities:
• Develop robust automated firmware/software testing solutions in TypeScript and Python, ensuring high reliability and repeatability
• Design and develop full-stack applications (React, TypeScript, Go) that deliver critical insights into Tesla's energy systems
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and intelligent analysis tools to accelerate testing and development cycles
• Develop AI agents that automate test generation, prioritization, refinement, and anomaly detection, optimizing coverage and testing velocity
• Collaborate with system integration, software, and firmware engineers to develop automated test scripts
• Improve and maintain our web- and desktop-based diagnostics platform
• Debug issues in production, root-cause them, and apply fixes in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, TypeScript)
• Strong CSS skills, including experience with CSS pre-compilers (SASS, LESS, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and tooling
• Go development experience
• Experience building highly scalable architectures
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and test management tools
Preferred:
• Experience with AI-assisted test tooling (Playwright codegen, agentic test generation, LLM-based failure triage)
