Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales of Custom Building Products in retail through The Home Depot, developing and managing relationships with all levels of The Home Depot system across the designated territory. This role plays a critical part in executing the company's sales strategy and is ultimately accountable for achieving sales targets and expanding market presence within the assigned region.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain territory specific information relative to competitors in the market to aid in the development and implementation of aggressive plans to defend and grow our market position.
  • Manage financial information relevant to sales volume, margins, market growth and profitability of the territory
  • Manage internal communications, corporate directives, and interpersonal relationships with operations personnel
  • Responsible for business development via prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing as well as generating ideas that contribute to territory, business unit, company vision and profitability
  • Acquire and deliver Custom Building Products product knowledge, MET or to The Home Depot divisions through targeted relationship development and strategic requests
  • Contribute to executive management personnel in regard to insights around market trends, policies, budgets, and industry trends and standards
  • Achieve assigned sales territory objectives through steering effort to profitable products and profitable customers by maximizing promotion and sales activity
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
  • Other duties as requested

About You

We Require:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' sales experience in construction or building materials, preferably in the tile and stone installation or tool industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite specifically Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • A demonstrated track record in developing and managing a high volume accounts or retail stores on a regular basis, including all aspects of the sales cycle from idea inception and defining strategy through closing to meet and exceed business objectives
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Strong organizational, planning, and territory management skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and relationship-building abilities
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working for or with The Home Depot is a plus
  • This is a remote position that requires multi-tasking, self-motivation, time management and the ability to travel throughout the territory as needed
