ABOUT THE ROLE

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to unload rail cars and unload/load trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.ย  This person also maintains the equipment and grounds of the site.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment.

  • Terminal Operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms, and suppliers.

  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.

  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading bulk material, as appropriate for the specific location.

  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.

  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education:ย  High school diploma or equivalent or 1-3 years of equivalent experience.

  • Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft programs, and SAP is preferred.

  • High Mechanical aptitude and ability. Knowledge of office equipment. Pleasant and positive attitude working with co-workers, customers, and the public. Physical ability to work at heights, confined-enclosed areas, and perform unloading functions.ย 

  • Must be able to complete paperwork

  • Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable

  • Autonomous, meticulous, good judgment

  • Courteous with customers

  • Knows and applies safe working practices

  • Attestation on any kind of training an asset

  • Knowledge of cement, the construction industry, and integrated computer systems is preferred.

  • Good communication skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
