Job Title: Heavy Civil Mechanic (Yellow Iron Equipment)
Location: Dewey, AZ

Status: Full-Time, Hourly
Job Summary

Earth Resources Corporation (ERC) is seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Civil Mechanic with a strong background in maintaining and repairing yellow iron equipment. This role is essential to keeping our fleet operational and safe across various heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with dozers, excavators, loaders, scrapers, and other heavy earthmoving equipment used in grading, paving, and underground utility operations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on yellow iron equipment and heavy construction vehicles, in the shop and in the field.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, undercarriage components, and transmissions.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, parts used, and labor hours in Tenna software.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all repairs meet OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns on job sites to minimize downtime.
  • Operate equipment for diagnostic and testing purposes.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; notify supervisor of replenishment needs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and vendors.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working on heavy construction equipment, specifically yellow iron.
  • Proficient with diagnostics and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electronic controls.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical drawings.
  • Must supply own basic mechanic tools (specialty tools provided by company).
  • Ability to work independently in varied weather conditions and challenging job site environments.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tenna software or maintenance tracking systems.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification or other relevant safety training.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Stamina to work on your feet, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
