Description

Teneo Digital advises the world's leading CEOs and organizations on how to show up, compete and win in a digital‑first world, where reputation is shaped across social media, search, paid campaigns, AI-generated answers and emerging platforms.

We work at the intersection of strategy, communications and digital, helping clients navigate how influence is evolving and translating those changes into practical communications, campaign and reputation strategies.

We're looking for a senior digital strategist to help build Teneo Canada's capability at the intersection of digital strategy, campaigns, AI and reputation. This is a client‑facing advisory role, working with senior communications and corporate affairs leaders to develop digital strategies, lead campaign strategy and oversee execution with specialist partners and translate emerging trends into practical recommendations that drive business outcomes.

Day to day, you'll help clients understand where digital influence is moving, how technology is reshaping communications, and how to apply those insights to campaigns, reputation management and executive positioning.

This person does not need to be a media buyer or AI engineer but should understand those disciplines well enough to lead strategy, manage specialist partners and confidently advise clients.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on integrated digital strategies spanning social, search, paid media, AI‑driven search, executive visibility and online reputation management.
  • Develop digital campaign strategies, helping define audiences, channels, messaging, objectives and measurement frameworks while coordinating execution with specialist internal and external partners.
  • Lead client workstreams, workshops and strategic discussions, translating complex digital and AI trends into practical recommendations for communications and corporate affairs leaders.
  • Develop client‑ready deliverables including presentations, strategic recommendations and campaign plans requiring minimal oversight.
  • Guide digital reputation initiatives across social listening, search, GEO, AI visibility and emerging platform trends, identifying opportunities and risks for clients.
  • Work with paid media, creative and analytics partners to ensure campaigns are strategically sound, measurable and aligned with client objectives, without necessarily being the hands‑on platform operator.
  • Help build Teneo's digital and AI advisory offerings, developing repeatable methodologies, playbooks and client solutions that respond to an evolving digital landscape.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing direction on research, analysis, reporting and client deliverables while helping build capability across the team.
  • Stay at the forefront of developments across digital platforms, AI, LLMs, social, search, paid media and emerging technologies, proactively bringing new ideas and implications to clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years’ experience in digital strategy, strategic communications, corporate affairs, digital marketing, reputation management or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior clients on digital strategy, campaigns, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to take complex campaigns from audience and channel strategy through partner coordination, activation, measurement and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of integrated campaigns spanning owned, earned, shared and paid channels, with experience developing strategies rather than simply executing tactics.
  • Working knowledge of paid media and ad‑buying ecosystems, with the ability to collaborate effectively with specialist agencies and vendors, challenge recommendations and oversee execution.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms, search, GEO, AI‑driven search experiences and how digital discovery is evolving.
  • Experience using digital analytics and social listening tools to identify trends, measure performance and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive‑ready presentations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience managing client workstreams and mentoring junior team members in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment.
  • Curious, strategically minded and comfortable working in ambiguity, with a demonstrated ability to translate emerging technologies into practical client opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
