Overview

The Powder Tender will be responsible for maintaining the portable batch plant and power supply as well as other tasks. The Powder Tender is a full-time position that requires travel with overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
  • Perform a variety of tasks in the concrete paving industry.
  • Operate tools and equipment as needed.
  • Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain portable batch plant and power supply.
  • Oversee unloading and direct powder tankers in the yard.
  • Lift heavy objects, tear down, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.
  • Keep daily quantities of powder supply.
  • Hook trucks up to silos.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e., work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).

Requirements

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
  • Basic maintenance skills.
  • MSHA Certification.
  • Experience and knowledge of general construction, welding, and operating equipment.
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to reach below/at/above shoulders.
  • Pushing/Pulling/Twisting/Bending.
