Machine Tender: Rockford, Illinois
Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We're recruiting Machine Tenders to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Machine Tender, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various CNC equipment, including Mazak, INDEX, Nakamura, Doosan, and other machinery. This role involves assisting CNC Technicians and Operators with machine setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting while maintaining production efficiency.

Responsibilities of the Machine Tender:
  • Operate and monitor CNC equipment in the department, including Mazak, INDEX, Nakamura, and Doosan machines, ensuring efficient operation during production runs.
  • Load raw materials, including bar stock, into equipment and bar loaders, using lifts and cranes as necessary to maintain continuous production.
  • Move finished products through the production process, working closely with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely output.
  • Inspect products throughout the production process using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify that they meet required tolerances and specifications.
  • Document daily production activities, including machine performance, part quality, and material usage, in the ERP system for tracking and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Adapt to changing production needs by flexing across various departments within the facility to support business demands and ensure efficient production workflow.
  • Assist with material handling, moving raw materials and finished products to and from workstations using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Machine Tender Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; metal manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machinery and functionality.
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
  • Capable of using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
  • Capable of using all required hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part schematics.
  • Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Pay for Machine Tender:
$18.00/hr. - $20.00/hr.
