Job Description:

This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, coach, facilitator, and subject matter expert, helping capability leaders and cross-functional teams adopt agile practices that improve alignment, transparency, delivery, and business outcomes. This role will help translate industry Agile frameworks into practical guidance aligned with TDIO's Capability Operating Model and recommend fit-for-purpose Agile practices rather than prescribing a single framework.
This role goes beyond team-level agile coaching. The Agile Transformation Coach will help define and mature the organization's operating model by designing practical frameworks, templates, playbooks, and governance that enable teams to work effectively while remaining aligned to strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience implementing agile operating models within large organizations and has successfully coached leaders, product organizations, and delivery teams through organizational transformation.
Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities & Duties:
Agile Operating Model Enablement (35%)
  • Partner with TDIO leadership to establish and mature the Capability Operating Model.
  • Define scalable agile ways of working aligned to the firm's culture, governance, and strategic objectives.
  • Design and improve playbooks, templates, planning frameworks, operating cadences, intake and prioritization models, RACIs, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Simplify processes while increasing transparency and organizational agility.
  • Develop practical approaches, templates and coaching guidance that help Capability Owners establish and mature healthy capability backlogs.
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Change Management to ensure Agile guidance, training, and communications consistently reflect the Capability Operating Model.
  • Coach teams through progressive Agile adoption, recognizing that teams may begin with Kanban and evolve toward Scrum or Hybrid delivery approaches.
Leadership & Capability Coaching (30%)
  • Coach Capability Owners, Agile Leads, and Capability Teams on agile principles and product-centric delivery.
  • Help leaders shift from project-based to outcome- and value-based delivery.
  • Facilitate prioritization, roadmapping, capacity planning, dependency management, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach servant leadership behaviors and build agile capability through mentoring and workshops.
Team Enablement & Continuous Improvement (20%)
  • Observe team operating cadences and ceremonies and provide actionable coaching.
  • Strengthen planning, backlog refinement, board walks, reviews, retrospectives, and other team operating practices appropriate to the team's delivery approach.
  • Assess team maturity and recommend pragmatic improvements and delivery metrics appropriate to each team's stage of adoption.
  • Identify organizational impediments and partner with leadership to remove barriers.
  • Promote experimentation and continuous improvement.
Agile Standards, Tools & Enablement (15%)
  • Develop reusable templates, guides, and standards.
  • Create training materials and facilitate workshops.
  • Recommend meaningful delivery and outcome metrics appropriate to each stage of team maturity.
  • Partner with PMO, Product Management, Architecture, and Delivery leaders.
  • Stay current on Agile, Lean, product management, organizational design, and delivery practices.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to curate role-based learning paths.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Organizational Development, or a related field required
  • Agile certification (e.g., ICAgile, CEC, SPC, CSP, PSM) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience required leading Agile transformations or coaching organizations through Agile adoption.
  • Experience implementing Product or Capability Operating Models within complex organizations.
  • Experience coaching senior leaders, product organizations, and cross-functional teams through organizational transformation.
  • Professional services or consulting experience preferred.
  • Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, product-centric delivery, Agile operating models, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Executive coaching, facilitation, stakeholder management, workshop delivery, organizational change, and Agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Ability to adapt Agile frameworks to organizational needs while balancing governance and delivery objectives.
  • Ability to influence without authority, develop practical operating models, and drive organizational adoption of new ways of working.
