Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Material Customer Service Representative provides dedicated sales and logistics operations support for internal (AGC-J) material customer service functions.
This role assists in the preparation of price quotations, purchase orders, and documentation, as needed, to ensure the accurate processing of internal customer orders. This role coordinates effectively with internal departments (such as logistics, procurement, production, and shipping/receiving) to ensure outstanding service and timely communication regarding order status/shipments.
Maintains service standards and ensures high-customer-satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Manages the flow of information and materials from order entry through delivery for assigned internal accounts.
  • Maintains incoming purchase orders.
  • Provides timely, clear response to customer inquiries.
  • Communicates with Supply Chain contacts and relevant stakeholders regarding order status, documentation, reschedules, and any other relevant information.
  • Communicates cross-functionally regarding customer requirements.
  • Processes requests from Head Quarters, as necessary.
  • Creates and manages purchase orders for selected vendors, as necessary.
  • Monitors shipment schedules; accurately generate shippers' letter of instruction (SLI) & commercial invoice (CI) documents for specialty shipments.
  • Generates basic and complex quotes for customers, including preparing and sending out request for quote (RFQs) for subcontractors.
  • Establishes strong relationships with stakeholders; works to maintain the excellent relationship between AGC locations.
  • Navigates internal processes efficiently; meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Regularly participates in, and contributes to, in-person and virtual customer meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to speak and write Japanese fluently, in a business setting
  • 4 years' experience in account focused customer service role required
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills
  • Sound decision making and time management skills
  • Intermediate MS Office computer skills; Excel specifically
  • Prior experience working with vendors, purchase orders, and quotes
  • ERP experience; Infor Cloud Suite Industrial preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing and/or semi-conductor industry experience
  • Working knowledge of international (imports & exports) shipping requirements
