*Develop specialized systems and/or software applications to assist in the operations of a large-scale, audio digitization and streaming project for obsolete media. 3. *Maintain, calibrate and operate equipment according to standard procedures to record and edit audio or video, e.g., cleaning, playback, recording and dubbing machines, computerized systems and software

Advise and recommends to the library administration, technology innovations used in media, storage devices, streaming servers, file types, and equipment and the methods used to implement them. 11. *Follow standards and best practices to train students and/or staff in specialized procedures, use of software, hardware, media and equipment to maintain complex digital media recording, encoding and preservation program operations.
12. Provide individual and group training for faculty, staff and student workers in the correct and specialty procedures for audiovisual equipment. 13.
Work with faculty and information technology staff in activities related to digitization of audio and video materials in the UHM Libraries in order to meet the digital media needs of a large and diverse academic research facility. 14. *Carry out digital assets management operations.
Work with Library IT, Preservation Department and Collection Development librarians to apply up-to-date standards for digitization, treatment, and preservation of digital media. 15. Work with Department Head to ensure copyright compliance for all digital media assets maintained by the UHM Libraries.
16. Support the development of the institutional repository by working with librarians, specialists, faculty and staff to make digital audio/video material accessible to users. 17.
*Evaluate media for signs of deterioration and coordinate media preservation for the archival copy of audiovisual materials. 18. *Implement standards-based practices and methodologies to determine condition of analog media for preservation of audio and video materials to ensure highest quality preservation.
19. *Implement standards-based procedures, employ specialized techniques and conduct activities to convert analog and digital audio and video, encode audio and video files for output to digital media, storage devices, and/or online/web access and delivery. 20.
*Perform administrative and technical tasks related to media digitization, streaming, archiving, and preservation for audio, video, and multimedia projects. 21. *Provide technical support for all digital media activities including off-air recordings, analog to digital transfer and born-digital media.
