Job description

Job Purpose - PRN / Temporary Position
The Veterinary Technician at HIRE INTRODUCTION LLC, a temporary staffing solutions agency, plays a vital role in supporting veterinarians by providing high-quality medical care to animals on an as-needed, temporary assignment basis. This is not a permanent position.

Responsibilities include assisting with medical procedures, managing patient records, monitoring animal health, and ensuring the comfort and safety of animals under care. The ideal candidate is skilled, compassionate, and adaptable to various veterinary clinical environments.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures by preparing equipment and handling animals.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, and tissue, for analysis.
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
- Educate pet owners on animal health, nutrition, and preventative care.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to hospitalized animals, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure efficient clinic operations and high standards of care.

Required Education:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is preferred but not mandatory.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital preferred.
- Experience in handling and restraining animals safely and humanely.
- Proven track record of assisting veterinarians in surgical and medical procedures.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of animal care and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in using veterinary software and medical equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to perform laboratory tests and analyze results accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when dealing with animals and their owners.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
