Job Title: Associate Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking an Associate Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the "quality guardian" for our software products. You will partner with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure that every release meets our standards for functionality, reliability, and performance.
This is an ideal role for an analytical, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about technology and wants to build a career in software testing. You will work on projects of varying complexity, learning how to bridge the gap between abstract business requirements and actionable test plans. If you are a structured thinker who enjoys finding the "edge cases" and ensuring system flow, this is the perfect starting point.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Quality Assurance
• Requirement Analysis: Review and assess user requirements and functional designs to ensure they are "testable." Actively participate in design meetings to gain a deep understanding of business goals.
• Test Design & Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans, scripts, and procedures. Create necessary test data to simulate real-world scenarios and thoroughly verify system logic.
• Execution & Reporting: Implement and execute tests across functional, integration, and performance levels. Log deviations, track incident resolution, and provide status reports that keep project teams informed.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate test automation opportunities. Identify where repeatable tasks can be streamlined through existing test tools and contribute to the "quality first" culture of the team.
Collaboration & Test Management
• Project Support: Assist in planning, estimating, and scheduling testing phases for assigned projects. Manage test progress and use industry-standard tools to monitor results.
• Stakeholder Support: Build positive, proactive relationships with business clients. Provide testing support and consultation as needed, ensuring stakeholders understand the progress and health of the product being tested.
• Technical Growth: Continuously learn and master our internal test management and automation tools. Act as a resource to help others troubleshoot these tools and document best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of work experience.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of six (6) months of professional experience in an IT or business environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective oral/written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Preferred Attributes
• General business understanding of functional areas or software systems.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., ALM, Jira, or similar platforms).
• Basic understanding of relational databases and database querying (SQL).
• Certifications: Continuous education or industry-recognized certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
