Salary Information: Step 15 ($29,148 annually at 50% FTE) for Master's students; Step 17 ($31,524 annually at 50% FTE) for PhD students

Other Conditions: To begin June 2026; renewal of appointment dependent on availability of federal funds, satisfactory performance, program needs and renewal of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research on telehealth resources that support technical assistance in Hawai'i and the Pacific region; assist Project Directors in developing telehealth resource materials.
  2. Support marketing and outreach activities, including drafting content for newsletters, informational materials, websites, and social media.
  3. Assist with project coordination, including organizing meetings, workshops, and related program activities.
  4. Develop and maintain an inventory of telehealth projects across Hawai'i and the Pacific region.
  5. Assist with technology research related to TASI operational systems.
  6. Support the development of a database of healthcare systems and resources in Hawai'i and the Pacific region.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Must be a classified degree-seeking student in a Masters or Doctoral program in Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above. Must maintain 6 credits each Fall and Spring semester with the exception of those who have reached 800 (dissertation) or 700F (thesis)
  2. Ability to conduct healthcare-related literature reviews, interprets research findings, and write short analytical summaries;
  3. Experience in developing workflow documents and graphs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medium to large size organizations;
  4. Experience with Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, PPT, and other similar tools.
  5. Must be self-motivated, persistent and has a strong desire to learn;
  6. Demonstrated ability to work as a good team player with a collaborative spirit;
  7. Must have good communication skills, oral and written English; and
  8. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and to conduct duties with minimal guidance from supervisor.

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Some training in care coordination, public health systems;
  2. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, university policy, rules, regulations, theories and systems associated with healthcare; academic research, analyses, data governance and individual confidentiality and privacy; and
  3. Familiarity with telehealth and/or telemedicine applications and processes.
