We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Freelance Associate Swim Designer to support the development of swimwear collections across key accounts, including licensed brands. This role will work closely with the Director of Design and cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life, ensuring alignment with brand standards and production requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in swimwear design, proficiency in Illustrator, and an understanding of tech pack development. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative design environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Design on all design deliverables and seasonal development needs
  • Assist in designing and sketching swimwear styles that align with current trends and brand direction
  • Help develop concepts that reflect the identity and target customer of each brand, including licensed partnerships
  • Create technical sketches and CADs in Illustrator to support product development
  • Assist in building and updating tech packs, including measurements, materials, and construction details
  • Partner with design, product development, and technical design teams to ensure designs are production-ready
  • Support the team in maintaining licensing requirements and brand standards throughout the design process
  • Research and stay up to date on swimwear trends, fabrics, and market direction
  • Assist in managing multiple projects and timelines to support on-time delivery of collections
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support the design and development process

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in swimwear or apparel design (internships included)
  • Strong sketching ability and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
  • Basic understanding of tech pack creation and garment construction
  • Knowledge of fabrics, trims, and swimwear-specific materials is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Exposure to licensed brands or interest in working with licensed product is a plus
  • Passion for swimwear, fashion trends, and the customer

Compensation/Benefits:

  • The approximate hourly rate range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00. The offered hourly rate for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
