Hexcel is currently seeking a Process Engineer II for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location.
The Process Engineer II will provide engineering support in the manufacturing of product within the following areas: Advanced Acoustic Materials, Satellite & Propulsion Materials, and Aero Interiors & Defense Materials. Our ideal candidate exhibits a positive, proactive, and professional approach and will be expected to maintain a strong focus on employee and process safety, process reliability, and customer satisfaction.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Develop reliable and capable processes to fully meet customer requirements, with an emphasis on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale equal consideration. Solve problems using cross-functional teams with tools such as 8-D Problem Solving, Causal Mapping, 9P Problem Solving, and DMAIC including Design of Experiments (DOE's).
  • Develop, document, and execute out of control action plans (OCAP's) that contain and correct process deviations through root cause analysis at the material and equipment level as appropriate. Responsible for defining, leading, and meeting Continuous Improvement (CI) objectives that improve material performance, cost, yield, and product velocity.
  • Co-author Process Control Documents (PCD) and material specifications with Quality Organization specifically through the development of Key Process Characteristics (KPC), Key Process Parameters (KPP) and Key Process Controls (KPC). Author Work Center Instructions (WCI) electronically (Word, MES system(s), etc.) and Document Change Requests (DCR) that are effectively trained against while adhering to Management of Change (MOC) policies. Support MES and MRP systems as pertains to Engineering tasks such as defining product configurations and standards, new item requests/creation, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with quality, manufacturing operations, maintenance, research and technology, product management, and supply chain with a strong emphasis on safety, customer satisfaction, and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Strong focus on behavior-based safety (BBS) through strong leadership, adherence to observation programs and proactive balanced real-time feedback and actions to ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) is effectively implemented in area of responsibility.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in an engineering or related technical field (preferably Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering). Advanced degree in technical discipline including an MBA are preferred.
  • 4+ years directly related, on-the-job, engineering experience. Experience in Aerospace industry desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with and working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • Computer literate. Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software.
  • Good organizational skills, able to work through competing objects, sudden business interruptions, and lead multiple projects that are prioritized adequately.
